I love flying my DJI Mavic Pro drone. My drone is usually in my camera bag when I travel...provided the local laws allow drone usage. Fortunately in Tbilisi, Georgia, drone usage is allowed. I usually check. There are a couple sites I use to check drone laws around the world. It's wise to keep checking and confirm on official sites of the locations to visit. You risk having your drone confiscated or legal trouble if you bring your drone to a country that prohibits drone usage. To be honest, it's not clear if some of my drone footage was in restricted zones, at least the flight maps didn't show the locations in Tbilisi as being restricted. Although I didn't fly my drone at all the sites I visited in Georgia, I still got some decent aerial footage in Tbilisi which was my main goal as well as in the mountains. One my favorite shots was the mother Georgia monument. I also had fun flying my drone through the mountains, and dipping near the flowing river. My guide was gracious enough to stop along the side of the highway for 30 minutes, long enough for me to capture some decent footage on our way back from Kazbegi. Unfortunately there was rain up in Kazbegi and I wasn't able to capture any footage up there, so that means I'll need to make a return trip just for that reason haha. How can I forget about the wineries...I also had the opportunity to fly around the winery and chateau that I visited. The winery I flew around is called Chateau Mukhrani and is located about an hour from Tbilisi. I was sure not to drink and fly...so I pulled it off before going on a tour and sampling their exquisite wine. The winery has quite a rich history, being that they are the only Royal Chateau winery in Georgia. When I return provided drone laws don't change I hope to capture some more footage.
